Philosopher Guide May 2008

We Salute the may day heroes. They brought out the clarion call. (Workers of the world unite)

May day signifies sacarifice by the labour force to earn its right. Government of India and Tamilnadu celebrate this day with fanfare and gaiety.

We wish not a single man to be denied the right to work to earn his livelihood.

It is the bounden duty of the government to draw a blue print to provide work opportunity for all men and women.

No one shall eat food with out work.

No Work No Food.

It is the dignity of the labour that is emphasized. No life on earth eats without work except idle men who have inherited properties from their parents.

All the modern advancements in all fields are the express outcome of labour.

Land is a free gift of nature out of the four factors of production.

1. Land
2. Labour
3. Capital
4. Organization

Except land all others are having labour component either mental or physical.

The editor congratulates the Government of Tamil Nadu for harvesting power from the destructives - a sever cylone that hit the coast with gigantic power. We congratulate honourable Dr. Kalaignar and his Electricity Minister for their efforts in this regard by installing giant windmills.

Kaviyogi envisages a day when the destructive forces from the natural calamities are converted into blessings.

We have succeeded in harvesting wind power, let us also harvest the solar energy as well.

VOC's Centenary of Declaration of Independence

VOC declared Indepence on 12th of 1908 in the South India. His declaration of Independence was equal to the Magna Carta of the west.

The British were terribly shaken by the declaration and VOC was arrested and imprisoned for life twice, one for the declaration of Independence and the other for Treason.

Poet Bharathi took the cue from him and sang:

"Let us sing ballad and dance
We have won freedom dear".

This song and the arrest of VOC spread like wild fire.

This day was celebrated by the VOC's cultural sangam.

In the picture are seen:

Dr. P.pandian. I.A.S (Retd) President. His Holiness Muthukumaraswamy Thambiran, Honorary President. Kavignar Kaanavan, Vice President. Narayanamurthy, Secretary. Karuppasamy, Treasurer. Mani from Win TV.

The Meeting requested the Government both at the Centre and the State to pass an order to celebrate this year as the completion of the centenary of VOC's incarceration.

You can see the widowed wife of VOC Sunmugasundaram, grand son of VOC, and great grand son's wife recently widowed VOC's family deserves the grace of The Munificient Dr Kalaignar's Rule.

Chidambaranar cultural and social sangam was inaugurated on 2nd March
In the picture Dr. P. Pandian (IAS), president, G.Balasubramanian, vice president its secretary Narayanamurty Treasurer Karuppasamy, Tirudutyurai tambiran swamigal and Dr Ramalingam former dean are seen.
It was resolved to spread the message of VOC CHIDAMBARANAR and to rejuvenate the Tamil Diaspora through out the world by uniting all VOC associations. The changing scenario calls for such concerted effort to safeguard the interests of labour, farmers and the right thinking people.

Nuances in translating the bardic literature
By
Dr. P Pandian I.A.S (Retd)

Synopsis

God or Nature alone is the original creator. All the other creations are only copies.
Such being the axiom even the best translation is only an imitation.

The bardic literature pieces are master pieces of creation. They have their roots in culture of the soil.Yet their heavenward branches have appeal to the cosmos.Hence the truth lying there in have global relevance.

Hence while attempting to translate the bardic literature the following nuances have to be kept in mind.

1) A complete and unambiguous understanding of the Akattinai and purattinai which are absent in English literature

2) To be well versed in the History and geography of Tamilnadu

3) Understanding the structure and architectonics of the literary edifices

4) The peculiarity of the narrative mode - as in the case of Cilappatikaram and Manimekalai, where in the story is couched in a single sentence of course, an unwieldy compound sentence

5) The translator must be capable of conveying in the translated text which is faithful to the original the aroma of the local custom and practices, yet keeping intact their universal appeal

6) The intensity of the emotions expressed in the original shall be incorporated in exact equivalent measure in the translated text

7) The suggestive hints in the original running through out the bardic texts shall be brought out in full measure in the translation

8) The translator shall be capable of breaking the compound sentence in small bits and reasseble in the target language to look like the original

9) An exhaustive glossary explaining the technical words and others peculiar to the Tamil genius only

10) The product in the target language is both an art and science, yes a hybrid product yet with artistic flavour with a scientifically built body with the necessary contours

Bharathi Dasan - Thou shouldst be with us now
- Kavignar Bacon

Hey! my deft fingers ! come on!
Stroke the strings of the lyre
And wake up the dozing children
Of sound ,to pour the nectar
In to our ears1 Let the burden
Of our cares disappear!
And sing an eulogy on the Bard
Brarathi Dasan The self respect wizard!

The veil of ignorance and superstition
Cast over the Tamil Populace
He tore asunder! To see the Sun!
Of Reason with all the ease
Lo! The cheaters took to the heel
Illusions began to ease
A great follower of Periyar
Were you the Tamils’ saviour!

Those halcyon days of yore
Come to me as sweet remembrance
The pleasures we did share
At Madurai’s goodly ambience
With the Tamil Servitors pure
Who follow Reason and science! Thou shuoldst be living now
When Kalaignar implements your ideals with a vow!

New Look Of India

Let us change the image
Of India in the eyes of westerners, It should not be a land
Of squalor and dirt,
It should not be a land
Of elephants and scorpion,
It should not be a land
Of beggars and poverty.
Let us change the image
Of India in the eyes of westerners.
Let us each patriotic Indian,
Take a resolution,
In the year 2007,
Create an image of India,
Where all Indians,
Takes pride of her culture,
Takes pride of her success
In its IT revolution,
Takes pride in her march
In science and technology.
And above all give
An image of India,
As the land of humanity,
As the land of the soul.

Padma N

An anthology of 24 poems fully illustrated with realistic true to life photos and pen portraits.

She begins like Somerset Maugham when she describes feelings of heart like the blessings which descend to the lips of the starved desert wlk like the expectant lovers but suddenly she finishes like Thomas Grey as in eelegy written in country church yard.

The photo for the poem The Master piece taken from an altitude of 20000 ft while flying in the air is superb

In Music every where I can discern the wordworthian hiding in her vein

Padma deserves kudos

Kaviyogii

The south west monsoon is ahead of time. It augurs well for the new government when there is copious water in the reservoirs and the delta farmers plough happy. The loss due to Tsunami has to be made good by bumper and additional harvests.

As things stand of today Samba is well assured, kuruvai too. Thaladi is most likely as the monsoon has not fully arrived. It may bring much rains and our dams will be full.

Health care

It is during this season eye diseases abound due to wind swept pollens and other irritants in the air. Please guard your eyes while exposing to the weather wind.

If irritating do not rub eyes but wash with clean water frequently. Rubbing gives apep to the micro organism by creating a good ambience for multiplication. Even if intense itch is there if you withstand for a minute they will have a natural death due to tears which give them a wash off.

TACHYON

Kaviyogii has pefected the art of distance healing. Hence devotees and disciples of Kaviyogii can send their required cure and after receiving instructions from Kaviyogii they can sit in meditative posture at appointed hour usually it is 5.00am and 6.15 pm IST.

Kaviyogii will send his powerful rays known as TACHYON to be received by the aspirants.

The litmus test for such receiving is feeling the vibration at the ajna (cavernous) centre at the time of meditation. Receipients can also tell the result of such reception and the resultant cure. Some may need one or two sittings.

As soon as they are completley cured let them discontinue to receive the TACHYON.

Kaviyogi will undertake to send TACHYON rays only to those who lead a virtuous life and a life of continence. Indulgent men and women unless otherwise they feel remoreseful and resolve to lead a virtuous life will not be eligible for the grace.

Men and women shall resolve to live in alignment with the COSMIC MIND. And follow universal laws of unbounded love and brotherhood and develop compassion for all lives flora and fauna.

Alignment with cosmic mind is the best form of worship.

COSMIC ALIGNMENT OF BREATH

Check up whether you align with the cosmic life force today:

If your breathing system does not align with the cosmic pattern you can correct it by the following methods:

  • Looking at the eyebrow of the side you want the change.
  • If you are initiated into Kundalini Yoga, a mere thought can do the the trick.
  • The easiest way is to hop a few steps with the concerned side of the leg and walk a few steps. The breath course will change.
For efficiency wake up your kundalini. We welcome you!
